Anupam Kher’s march to Rashtrapati Bhavan proved really significant and successful. After the dignitaries like Arundhati Roy, Vidya Balan spoke on the intolerance, it was Kher who seemed desperate to do something unique. He flagged off ‘March for India’ and undoubtedly got great fanfare to confess what he wanted to say. As per he said,
“This march is a symbol that India is united. This gesture signifies to those millions of Indians who think India is tolerant. Every country confronts ups and down but marking the country as intolerant just because of it is totally wrong.”

He also speaks on the protests led by artists and writers “Award-wapsi campaign is defaming the country as the projection of ‘wrong’ picturised situation is prevailing.” Spouse of Kirron Kher, Anupam, told reporters, “Though some people have minted the term ‘Growing Intolerance’, there are only few who thinks such notion as India is secular country who don’t believe in selective patriotism and outrage, and pseudo-secularism.
Husband of BJP MP got the support of writer Madhu Kishwar, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Manoj Joshi, Priyadarshan, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ashoke Pandit and actress Raveena Tandon. They handed over a memorandum (signed by more than 40 dignitaries) to President Pranab Mukherjee.
He asserted ” The whole protest is narrative and it shouldn’t go abroad. We are diverse country and we condemn some incidents that happens. The protest is going on a wrong track as the people who spoke ill of Modiji before elections are the same who are coming out.” Bhandarkar, a National Award winner, supported Kher agreeing with the facts he showed to the public and media.
Priyadarshan, famous Filmmaker, quoted the returning the award activity as ‘Childish’. Shah Rukh Khan would never say to return his award & so did Vidya Balan.
Kher confirmed the reason of his march to say to the world that India is tolerant and no other countries have any right to preach to other country. I personally think that every Indian should be raged by this and there are no single authoritative country who can teach our country patriotism. Talking about his next meeting with the Pranab Ji, he says,
“I just want to convey India is a secular and no believer of selective outrage. I respect the protestors but have they even approached our PM?”
