LG has released the official schedule for LG G3 Lollipop Android 5.0 update. A netherlands tech news website techtastic had reported that the official date of release is to be announced in the following soon, and LG has announced via facebook that the LG G3 will get the update in the last quarter of 2014 and LG G2 Lollipop update will follow it.
LG is one of the last manufacturers to announce Lollipop update for their flagship devices. Google’s Nexus line was the first to announce and certainly the first to get the Lollipop update. Other manufacturers like Motorola for their entire 2013-14 lineup, Sony for its high end Xperia Z lineup, Asus for its Zenfone and Padfone series and so on have already announced the official release schedule.

Android 5.0 Lollipop will bring a lot of new features and improvements, the overall UI itself is changed in the Lollipop update Material Design. The changes that Android 5.0 Lollipop will bring are : a new smoother interface, revamped notifications menu with more control over the notifications, battery and performance optimizations, security tweaks, Android Smart Lock, Device Sharing capabilities for multiple users and app pinning, Guest User support, improved Quick Settings, connectivity improvements, Blutooth Low energy peripheral mode, Android Runtime (ART) implementation , improved graphics with OpenGL ES 3.1, and more than 68 new language support , and more.
LG like all other will manufacturers will modify Lollipop, the look with their own UI and behavior with the added LG features, and thus the delay in updates compared to Nexus devices.
