Indian off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, had already attained No. 1 spot recently in ICC rankings. To add the pride to India, Ravindra Jadeja also entered in the chart coming in the 5th position of ICC all-rounder. Ashwin has batting average of 31.68 (highest score of 124) is above Bangladesh‘s Shakib Al Hasan in the All-rounder ranking of ICC. Ashwin took 31 wickets in four Test matches in which India got a massive 3-0 triumph over South Africa in the home series. This also helped me to grab second spot in the bowling list below pacer Dale Steyn.
Let’s talk about Sir jadeja, as after Ashwin he was the only one who rescued India from South African side. Left-arm spinner Jadeja picked 23 wickets in 4 Tests vs South Africa. He is also in the top-10 list. No Indian Batsman is in the top list of ICC because the competition is tough and every team is producing batsman like Virat Kohli and De Villiers. New Zealand‘s Kane Williamson rose two places to topple England‘s Joe Root from the top spot. Joe Root performed exceptionally well in the 2015 Ashes though they lost the series.
Williamson has become the only 2nd NZ batsman after Glenn Turner to top rankings for Test Batsmen after grabbing ‘Man of the Match’ in the Hamilton Test against Sri Lanka. It helped the team win the match by 5 wickets and the series 2-0. India is consistent with their No. 2 spot in the Test matches following South Africa.
